"The luxury of space" was the caption on the photo of a grand living room filled with what looked like gigantic terracota pots with actual, living trees carefully placed on a corner of the room by the equally gigantic window. The interior design was curated with neutral, earthy tones and textures varying from wood, to stone and textiles. An affordable, attainable look for almost everybody. At least, everybody with a big enough house.
When you live in a city where housing is scarce the phrase "the luxury of space" hurts on different levels. Lately, I find myself daydreaming of moving to the countryside to a home where space is vast and luxurious while leaving behind the buzzing streets filled with shops in every corner. These days I ask myself what's important to me, now, at this stage in my life and I try to be inquisitive and honest and I end up with the same answer.
